BOARD OPENINGS
As of January, 2008 the Vermont Green Building Network will have five openings on our Board of Directors for terms ending in 2009, 2010, and 2011. We are accepting applications from motivated individuals who are interested in serving on our highly active volunteer board and helping to network and promote green building in Vermont. We will be selecting applicants to fill these seats at our March 2008 board meeting. If you are interested, please send a letter of interest and biographical information or resume to Nancy Mears to be received no later than February 20, 2008. Please include a response to some or all of the Board Qualification, Criteria and Expectations below.

BOARD QUALIFICATIONS, CRITERIA AND EXPECTATIONS
= Preference for USGBC members
= 3 year commitment to VGBN and attending one board meeting the first Wednesday afternoon of each month and serving on one of our committees: Development, Education, Communication, or Advocacy which generally try to meet once per month also.
= Connections and ability to influence policymakers and industry leaders
= Diversity in location, business sector, background
= Fundraising ability
= Green Building expertise / education
= Leadership / development / organizing / group participation
= Avoiding conflicts of interest
= Special skills such as graphics, web sites, etc...
= Strive to be a liaison with one or more partner organizations with overlapping missions:
>>>>> Provide general information about VGBN and how we can help the organization network
>>>>> Report back to VGBN board generally what the organization has on its plate.
>>>>> Convey the vital contact and other information about the organization to the VGBN board

As approved by the VGBN board on March 1, 2006:
All past and current members of the Board of Directors and all future members who complete a three year term will receive a lifetime VGBN Individual Membership.
